• Simple Fall Fashion For the Office

    Oct 03, 2019

It's inevitable -- as the seasons change, so does your wardrobe. Instead of spending a fortune on new clothes, invest in just a few key pieces that you can rely on as fashion staples. Here are four items that are must-haves for the office this fall.

    Woman picking clothing from rack

    Black Blazer

A fitted blazer is probably one of the most versatile items you could own. You can use it to dress up even the most casual outfit, like a dress or even a pair of jeans. For a super chic look, try a well-cut blazer with blue jeans or dress pants and a crisp white t-shirt. It will look great with flats or a pair of high heels. If you prefer a different blazer style, look for an oversized blazer or a long-line blazer.

    Statement Bag

If you’re going to invest in one item this fall, it should be a statement bag. Adding a cool purse to your wardrobe is a great way to make even the simplest outfit look chic. Whether you’re wearing an all-black suit or dress pants and a t-shirt, a statement bag will really take your outfit to the next level. Keep in mind that you don’t necessarily need to go for a bright or loud colour. Instead, focus on interesting shapes and patterns. Hudson’s Bay and H&M have great bag selections.

    Long-Sleeved Dress

A long-sleeved dress is the perfect fall outfit and a great look for the office. It’s also the ideal outfit to transition from summer to fall. There are so many styles and fabrics to choose from this season. A-line dresses with collars are very comfortable and look sophisticated. A pencil dress with flared sleeves is stylish and warm. A midi dress is versatile and looks good on everyone. Whatever your taste, you can’t go wrong with a long-sleeved dress.

    Kitten Heels

Kitten heels are great for a few reasons -- they’re comfortable, chic and remind us of the ‘90s. But seriously, if you want versatility, this is one shoe style you need to own. They look great with a slip dress, jeans and a trench coat, and pretty much any dress style you can think of.

With these four staple items, you’ll be ready to conquer fall fashion and impress everyone at the office. Happy shopping from Timbercreek

  • 5 Easy Ways To Decorate Your Rental Bathroom On A Budget

    Sep 25, 2019

If you’d like to give your bathroom a mini makeover, but you don’t want to spend a lot of money, we have some suggestions for you! Give these 5 easy tips a try.

    Small bathroom decor

    Update your walls

If you want to make a big change in your bathroom, start by updating your walls. A bold shower curtain can make a statement. Choose wisely and it might become the centerpiece of the room. Another great idea is to add temporary wallpaper. This is such an easy way to give your bathroom a new look, plus it’s affordable and easy to stick on. Plus, if you get bored of it quickly, you can take it off just as easily.

Update ugly flooring with a rug or peel-and-stick tiles

It’s not so easy to change the floor in your rental unit. So instead of dreaming of a brand new floor, you can get an awesome rug! Check out Wayfair or Ikea for a great selection. You can also try peel and stick tiles to give your floor a quick update. This is yet another easy way to craft a new bathroom without any gutting. We love it because it’s inexpensive and isn't permanent.

    Maximize Space with Shelving

If you don’t have a lot of counter space or storage in your bathroom, you might want to install a couple of shelves. Examine the space and look for an empty spot. Above the toilet usually works. A three tier wall shelf might fit perfectly. You can also try an over-the-toilet shelf which looks stylish and gives you more storage space.

    Frame your mirror

Give your boring bathroom mirror a facelift by adding a nice frame. Since most rental units have plain mirrors that look cheap, this is the best trick which you can do on your own. With a handful of supplies and a few easy steps, you can make a beautiful frame. This will not only make your washroom feel new, but also more luxurious and inviting.

    Update the lighting

Lighting in any room is key, especially in the bathroom. If you don’t have any natural light, you should invest in good lighting which will make the space feel bigger and brighter. If you plan on applying your makeup in the bathroom, this is yet another good reason to invest in bright lights. If you want to go the extra mile, consider light dimmers. They let you adjust the lighting to your needs and create your desired ambiance. If you like to unwind in a relaxing bath, light dimmers can set the perfect mood.

Decorating your bathroom has never been so easy or affordable! We hope these tips help you with your bathroom makeover.

Silver Birch Park is another popular park for dog owners. It is beautiful and spacious, with lots of land for your dogs to enjoy and discover -- especially on a gorgeous summer day. It’s located in the east end of the city, just south of Queen Street and Nursewood Street. There’s parking in the area, too. You can get there easily by car or public transportation.

Earl Bales leash free dog park

Earl Bales is a large park located in North York. There is a large off-leash area for dogs as well as playgrounds, splashpads, walking trails and picnic sites. Trinity Bellwoods Park

Trinity Bellwoods is a local favourite. Located just east of Ossington Street, between Dundas and Queen, this park is the best hang out spot in the city.
