Enjoy the Calgary Midwinter Bluesfest this winter with Timbercreek Communities’ guide to this local music festival. The Bluesfest runs from February 16th until February 21st 2015 and offers a week full of blues music during the winter to warm your bones.

About the Festival

Expect a lineup of great shows ranging from free performances to ticketed shows at TC Calgary Bluesfestvenues around the city of Calgary. Mikey’s Juke Joint & Eatery, one of the festival’s many venues, is only a five-minute drive from Timbercreek’s Calgary community at 123 10th Avenue South West. This weeklong musical festival also features a variety of musical workshops and classes. Tickets can be bought both online and at the door of most performances. Online tickets can be purchased at Megatunes and online at the Calgary Bluesfest Store. A four-day festival pass can also be purchased for serious music lovers.

With a number of exciting performances, workshops and jam sessions, the Calgary Midwinter Bluesfest is every musician and music lover’s dream. While specific dates have yet to be released, festivalgoers can expect to see and attend events such as:

  • King Eddy Nights
  • CBMA Blues Awards & Twilight Blues Jam
  • Midwinter Bluesfest Dance Party

Venues

While the exact schedule has yet to be released, the Calgary Midwinter Blues Festival will take place at a number of venues throughout the city of Calgary including the Ironwood Stage, Kits on 16th, Mikeys Juke Joint and Eatery, and the MacEwan Ballroom. The Ironwood Stage is less than a 25-minute walk from Timbercreek Communities’ 1010 First Street South West Apartments.

As the Calgary Midwinter Bluesfest approaches, the festival’s website will have updated information and a comprehensive schedule of all events, times and venues. Timbercreek’s Calgary communities are located in some of the city’s most vibrant areas, close to many of the Calgary Midwinter Blues Festival’s events and performances.
