Fun ways to incorporate digital photos into your decor

Jul 25, 2025

These days, most people are sharing digital photos online via, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. These increasingly popular apps for browsers and smartphones make most photographers feel like a pro with easy ways to incorporate filters and effects. However, after a photo is shared and liked online, the snapshots often stay there. Get your pics off the cloud and incorporate some digital décor into your Brampton apartment.

  • Customize a mug with someone’s mug shot! This is a fun option to combat against roommates who use each other’s things. Delegate a mug to each roomie with a custom picture and no more switching!
  • Show off your Instagram snapshots on a pillow.  Stitchagram lets users pick favourite shots to incorporate on throw pillows as well as stickers, pouches and tote bags.
  • For an interesting DIY project, display black and white prints in multiple glass containers in different colours or sizes.  Look for glasses and bottles that are larger in the neck or mouth. For more on this antique-inspired project check out the article Family Photos in a Bottle.
  • Custom photo magnets are another option that is readily available from print shops or big-box stores. For perfectly insta-sized magnets, order online from StickyGram. Packs come in a set of nine and the service offers free shipping to Canada.
  • Choose from framed prints, posters, stickers and mini-books via Prinstagram. As the name implies, the service specializes in Instagram snapshots.  It syncs directly to a user’s account allowing you to select the best shots.
  • Display eco-friendly pics around your apartment. Static Pixels, based in Montréal, prints shots onto recycled high-density cardboard.
  • For a more local option, Poster Jack is a Toronto-based company that prints digital pictures onto Canadian-made canvas. Poster Jack also prints custom wall decals designed from user’s digital photos.

So there are lots of options to print and display your digital pics – but where do you find the perfect shot? Head out for a hike on the Brampton trail network; many of the city’s main parks such as Centennial Park and Kiwanis Memorial are located on the trails. Snap some unexpected nature shots in Brampton to share and display. For something more urban, head downtown and follow the Heritage Walking Tour and document some of the city’s historic buildings.

For those interested in learning more about the craft of photography, join the Brampton Photo Group that meets twice a month. The latest session of the group wrapped at the end of June but things kick off again in September. The group works to serve the needs of all its members: it provides a means to enter competitions, basic photography tips, special speakers and events. The website hosts interesting monthly challenges and the group visits spots throughout the city that will ensure you’ve got a great shot.

Situated in a quiet community in the heart of Brampton at Kennedy and Steeles, Rambler Towers is the perfect place to call home. Enjoy the fresh air and scenic views of Brampton from large, private balconies. Units are bright and spacious, freshly painted and ready for the custom décor that make residents feel at home.
