Jun 24, 2025

Toronto is home to some of the most fantastic and unique design stores in the country. With such a diverse and multicultural city, there is no shortage of furniture design stores with different styles and aesthetics. Timbercreek Communities offers a wide variety of rental apartments in some of the most dynamic areas of Toronto including trendy Liberty Village, the Beaches, Yonge and Eglinton and more. Our Toronto communities feature contemporary design details and modern interiors. A full list of our Toronto communities can be found on our website, available here.

Commute Home
Commute Home is a popular design store found on Dupont Street in Toronto and is a 20-minute transit ride from our 36 Maitland Street community. This furniture design store offers an immediately recognizable aesthetic that is known for its reclaimed industrial materials and top quality wood finishes. This modern furniture emporium features unique items like headlight chandeliers, platform sofas, solid wood dining tables and custom interiors. Commute Home constantly showcases new and innovative products as well as refurbished vintage items, so there is something for everyone.

StyleGarage
StyleGarage is the go-to place for eclectic and ‘out there’ home furnishings. This modern store and showroom offer bedroom, dining room and living room furniture designed in-house. Furniture can also be customized based on your home’s specs and preferences. StyleGarage is less than a 20-minute walk from Timbercreek’s 200 Dufferin Street community. The showroom was once an actual garage, and offers 1,500 square feet of space devoted to handmade furniture. StyleGarage is known for its use of mixed materials, especially their wood and metal combinations that give off a modern cottage vibe.

Made
Made is a Toronto showroom and gallery exclusively for Canadian-made design. The products offered are quite diverse, with many of the pieces giving off a retro and rustic feel. Made is a 20-minute transit ride from our 392 Sherbourne Avenue community. The showroom has been open since 2006 and has already secured its position as a staple within Toronto’s and even Canada’s design community. There is a rich and extensive resource of modern Canadian design at this store, concentrating mostly on furniture and ceramics.

Kiosk
Kiosk’s new design showroom at King and Berkeley is a relatively new player in the Toronto design shop world. Kiosk offers three levels of unique and colourful furniture that boasts sleek designs with a fun modern twist. This trendy design store is a 20-minute transit ride from Timbercreek’s 36 Maitland Street community. The showroom is a multi-level museum of avant-garde furniture, interesting design items and cutting-edge decorative elements. Be warned that Kiosk is not for those with a small budget, but it is a great store to visit for design inspiration.

Whether you are purchasing new furniture or simply in need of some design inspiration, the city of Toronto offers an amazing array of design shops with something for everyone. Happy hunting!
