DIY Ice Cream!

Summer simply isn't summer without ice cream. When it's it too hot to line up outside, it's nice to know you don't have to leave home to enjoy delicious ice cream treats all summer long. Here are some simply amazing DIY ice cream recipes!

The Best (and Easiest) Ice Cream You'll Ever Make

As the name clearly states, this ice cream is delicious and easy to make using any kind of ice cream maker -- hand-crank, electric crank, freezer bowl or a fancy ice cream compressor. There are only five simple ingredients; milk, cream, sugar, vanilla bean or extract and salt. Simply simmer all the ingredients in a saucepan, chill and pour it into the machine.

Vegan Banana-Based 'Ice Cream'

If you or someone in your family is avoiding dairy products, there's no need to avoid sweet frosty treats this summer. This frozen banana-based 'ice cream' is thick and creamy, and cold. It has the texture of soft-serve ice cream without any dairy products or refined sugars. It can be flavoured any way you like. This recipe makes 'neopolitan-style' -- chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. No ice cream maker is required. You can use a food processor or blender.

No-Churn Ice Cream

You don't need an ice cream maker to make delicious DIY ice cream at home. This simple 3 ingredient base recipe is easy to make with only heavy whipping cream, condensed milk and vanilla extract. There are also 10 flavour mix-in ideas to make everyone happy.

Vegan Coconut Ice Cream

If you have an ice cream maker, but aren't doing dairy these days, this Vegan Coconut Ice Cream is perfect for you. The creamy coconut flavour is even better topped off with some toasted coconut. Once you're an expert at making the vanilla coconut version, you can experiment by adding other flavours including chocolate, fresh strawberries, or Oreo cookies -- which are also vegan!

We hope these DIY ice cream recipes are a cool highlight of your hot summer.
