Spend the day outdoors in Lower Sackville

Aug 13, 2015

How can you take advantage of the summer weather? Try one of these ideas recommended by Timbercreek Communities. For today’s post, the blog team has compiled a list of fun outdoor activities near our Lower Sackville apartments.

Atlantic Playland

Spend a day in the sun at Atlantic Playland (1200 Lucasville Road), Nova Scotia’s TC Sackville Outdoorslargest family owned and operated Fun Park. Features here include waterslides, bumper boats, a Ferris wheel and an antique carousel. Admission and parking is free of cost. 14-18 Quinella Court Apartments are less than a ten-minute drive from this summer option.

Hatfield Farm

Another popular summer spot nearby is Hatfield Farm (1840 Hammonds Plains Road). This is a great place to go mini golfing, explore trails or enjoy an evening around an open fire. The farm also has a 5,000-square-foot lodge and restaurant, ensuring no one will go home hungry. This unique venue is about a ten-minute drive from Paige Plaza Apartments (9-54 Paige Plaza).

Attend a summer concert

Pack a picnic lunch, grab a lawn chair and enjoy one of this summer’s free concerts at the Halifax Public Gardens (5665 Spring Garden Road), less than a 30-minute drive from 6-30 Touchstone Court Apartments. Concerts are held on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. This outdoor event began in June and will continue through September 20th. A complete lineup of performers can be found online.

A day at the park

Lower Sackville has a wonderful selection of picturesque parks, perfect for a day outdoors. Use last summer’s list of parks to find the best green spaces to explore this season.
